It's a whole different experience to see the Maker Faire while they're still setting up. People are scrambling to finish putting up their displays. Others, who have finished, wander serenely around to get perhaps the only look they will get of the other booths. When the crowds come tomorrow, most will be too busy to explore, and some will have too few staffers to leave.

Maker Faire treats its makers well. Today, they offer a free tasty dinner of paella, and an open beer stand to help pump people up for the event to come. Surprise cupcakes and free t-shirts round out the celebration. There were also several bands playing of various styles. I'm looking forward to seeing everything in full swing tomorrow.
